Greenwich Village and an Italian Restaurant

Greenwich Village
Last weekend we explored Greenwich Village and Little Italy. Two neighborhoods of New York City I hadn’t explored too much. We only went for one night and we stayed at The Marlton Hotel. This hotel was gorgeous and 1 block from Washington Square Park! It was a bit pricey for one night, but not as bad when compared to other hotels in the city. Below is the room we stayed in. If you’re not familiar with NYC Hotels, don’t expect too much. The rooms are usually very small, big enough for a bed and a bathroom.

Below is the bathroom. Small but the gold and marble accents were nice.

The hallway had a lot of detail too.

In the lobby, they had a seating area off to the side with a fireplace and the bar was in the back. They make gourmet food and serve cocktails. Unfortunately I did not take any pictures but you can see for yourself here.

Since we were just a block away from Washington Square Park we stopped by to take some pictures. The sky was gorgeous and I happened to get the Freedom Tower in it as well. XEyczzHXTCuO8a8sJgZkug

On our way to Little Italy we saw an Irish bar called the The Half Pint. We saw a couple open seats at the bar and were quick to grab them. We ordered a couple beers and large pretzel with cheese sauce. I could tell the cheese sauce was homemade, it tasted very fresh.

After having a few beers, Little Italy was just a mile away so we went for dinner since I had never been. I thought it was funny how outside of every Italian restaurant there was a sales man waving you down to try the best Italian food in the city! After checking out a number of restaurant menu’s we settled on The Original Vincent’s.  I ordered the Chicken Francese and Dave got the Bolognese. It was very good. Unfortunately I did not take too many pictures.

Little Italy

Coming back towards the hotel, we saw the beautiful Empire State Building. I just loved how colorful the Empire State Building was that night! Usually the Empire State building lights are based off a theme. I couldn’t find it for March 3rd. Does anyone know?

Please feel free to leave suggestions on where I should go next in NYC. Is there a better restaurant? A hip lounge? A speakeasy? Let me know below and I will go.
