Transitioning to Non-Toxic Plant-Based Makeup

fullsizeoutput_571I have been slowly transitioning most of my skin care and makeup to non-toxic beauty brands. I feel like non-toxic beauty is becoming more and more popular these days as people are becoming more aware of all the harmful chemicals found in most makeup. If you want to learn more, Juice Beauty has broken it out clearly here in their Clean Beauty Challenge. They are the brand I have fallen in love with because all their makeup is made from organic plants. They are also upfront on their website sharing an ingredients list and certifications they have earned.

I first found out about Juice Beauty through a Sirius XM ad last year. Their makeup prices are the same as what I spend on other brands with all the harsh chemicals. I started with their Phyto-Pigments Flawless Serum Foundation. I figure it’s one of the more important products to transition to since you’re covering your entire face with it. I’ve been using it for the last couple months and I have to say, I love it! It makes my skin feel really nice, soft and it’s long lasting. It also provides full covered and hides acne as well as other imperfections I have. I know most people are skeptical when they hear of a product that is all organic and plant-based because they don’t believe it will hold up but trust me this does! I am not one to touch up makeup throughout the day. It’s important to me that my makeup stays put all day long and this does.

The second item I bought was their Phyto-Pigments Perfecting Concealer in Buff for under my eyes. This works great to hide dark under eye circles. It’s enriched in Vitamin C and E along with coconut, grape seed, and jojoba to lock in moisture.

Since I have such fair skin, I need a bronzer to prevent myself from looking washed out. I bought Phyto-Pigments Light Diffusing Dust in Golden Tan. Most people would use this product alone for full coverage as an alternative to a liquid foundation. It does a really nice job smoothing out skin appearance and absorbing excess oil. However, I add it to my cheeks as a bronzer.

I also bought Phyto-Pigments Last Looks Cream Blush in Seashell to add a pop of color to my cheeks for a nice Spring look. I’ve never used a cream blush but I actually really like it! It’s very easy to build and fool-proof. I find that sometimes when I use the pressed blush I add too much to the brush and then I look like a clown. The cream blush is foolproof and you can rub it in easily with your fingers and build up as you go for the look you want. You can even add this to your lips too!

Juice Beauty is one of a kind. It’s formulated without parabens, petroleum, propylene or butylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, pesticides, phthalates, artificial dyes or synthetic fragrances. Their products are never tested on animals. Ever since I started to use Juice Beauty I have noticed my skin softer. It holds up really well all day long. I cannot say enough great things about it.

    1. What are your favorite Pacifica products? I’ve heard of them and don’t know which products to buy first. Let me know if you have any must have items from them.

      1. I love their beauty balm, although it only comes in one shade which is a bummer. Also, there’s a cheek palette made of coconut oil-based products that has a creamy blush, bronzer, and highlighter which are fantastic! Their mascaras are great too, especially for natural mascaras

  1. I’ve been slowly trying to switch over to non-toxic, organic and cruelty-free but it’s SO hard finding products that really ARE just that! I’ve never heard of this brand, but it seems excellent!

    1. Hi Lauren! They are the first brand I have so far come across that is made from organic plants. There are many Vegan beauty products out there which are awesome but some unfortunately have chemicals in them.

    1. Thank you! Yes I will definitely check your blog out! I would love to learn more about non-toxic beauty.
