Cinco de Mayo is right around the corner. It’s a very special holiday for me because it’s also my birthday! From booze cruises to rooftop parties, I found some fun events happening in the NYC/NJ area that is listed below. If you’re wondering what to wear, you can find some outfit inspiration here.
Dos Caminos – This place is a staple for Mexican eats with multiple locations in NYC. I was just at the SoHo location last week and had a fantastic time. I ordered the Dos Enchiladas. They were so good, I am still craving them now. They also serve brunch and bottomless cocktails in case you want to kick off your Cinco de Mayo Saturday early.
Rosie’s – The ambiance is very stylish and open. You can sit inside or outside. We walked past this place but they were very busy. I really wanted to go because they look like they have amazing margaritas. If you’re in the SoHo area definitely check this place out and let me know.
Jose Tejas – If you’re in NJ like me and want to grab a bite to eat head to Jose Tejas. On Cinco de Mayo they go crazy and the restaurant becomes a huge party. You walk in and they give you dressed up Corona’s with the sombrero hats and ponchos. Servers also offer margaritas. People are dancing with cardboard cutouts of the Dos Equis guy. It’s a good time. The ultimate dish you must get is the Chicken Guadalajara. It’s chicken breast smothered in cheese, red peppers, spinach, and rice. It’s amazing! There are also multiple locations in New Jersey.
